Beginners Japanese Course
We want to help you learn the Japanese necessary for daily life.
Have fun learning alongside people from all over the world!
Targeted individuals and their Japanese language level
1. Beginners
Those who learn Japanese for the first time - those who can read hiragana and katakana
2. International residents who live or work or study in Kyoto Prefecture
3. Mid/long-term residents
4. In principle, 18 years or older
*Your class level is decided upon interview with a Japanese teacher.
●Mon/Thu Regular Course (Class I: 15 people Class II: 10 people)
Class I is for beginners and near-beginners.
Class II is for those who can read hiragana and know some Japanese.
●Saturday Conversation Course (each class: approximately 10 people)
Class I is for those who can understand some basic Japanese., and can hold a simple conversation.
Class II is for those who can express their own ideas and thoughts.

The class will be taught in Japanese. (Direct method)
For all classes, materials created by the center will be provided.
●Mon/Thu Regular Course
Oct.3 (Thu) – Dec.16 (Mon), 2024
10:30-12:45
Every Monday and Thursday, 20 lessons
Class I : Kyoto Prefectural International Center
Class II : Online (Zoom)
Class will start off with simple material and gradually work up to more advanced material.

Oct.5 (Sat) – Dec.14 (Sat), 2024
Class I : 10:00-12:15 Class II : 13:00-15:15
Every Saturday, 10 lessons
Online(Zoom)
This course is aimed at people who want to enthusiastically use and practice practical Japanese that is necessary in daily life and communication.
Placement interview
*Interviews will be conducted face-to-face (at KPIC- Kyoto TERRSA, East Bldg. 3F).
For people who live far away, please contact us.
We will provide applicants with the details later.
●Mon/Thu Regular Course: Sep.26 (Thu) 10:30-14:00
●Saturday Conversation Course: Sep.28 (Sat) 10:30-12:00 (Reception open until 11:30)
*If the results of your level-check quiz indicate that your level of Japanese is not suitable for the courses offered, you may not be permitted to take them
If a class reaches capacity, priority will be given to those who applied first.
*It may take some time to determine the class
Course Fee
Mon/Thu Regular Course: Class I/II -- 6000 yen for 20 lessons
Saturday Conversation Course: Class I/II -- 4000 yen for 10 lessons
●Please pay in cash on the day of your interview.
●For those living far away: Please pay by bank transfer
(Bank transfer charge will be paid by the participant.)
*There are no refunds once payment has been made.
Receiving the textbook
・We will provide textbooks and any other materials on the interview day.
・For those who aren't able to come to the Center, we can send the materials via the post.
(Please pay the shipping fee 500 yen with the course fee by bank transfer.)
